In our journey we want to simply, refine our ear. What is it we have been missing throughout the ages about ourselves that has been so valuable? What is it that has been right under our noses?

I was listening to the great interviewer Terry Gross and I have know idea now what the interview was about only that the person interviewed mentioned the famous punk rocker Iggy Pop and that he was at that point revived and managed by David Bowie before Bowie became very famous and they had appear, of all places, on the Dina Shore show. I now remember I believe at that point the interview was using this piece of information as an example of what you could find on YouTube.

I, as someone who had never really paid any attention to Iggy but had actually gone to a David Bowie concert in the Nineties, looked at the YouTube clip and found, well, shame.

I had never heard Iggy speak and as always what is striking in these situations is how quickly the subject comes and goes. On the other hand it is quite amazing that it came up in such a crystal clear fashion to begin with and then that she brought it up to her gentile audience. Then it is interesting how adroitly he handles it.
